I love Doris Day!

Oh, how I love Doris Day as a singer and an actress! And I admire her passion in taking care of animals. This is a good collection of some of her songs. However -- and this is true for this singer's collection as well as others -- they are NEVER in the keys the singers sang in; they are in keys better suited to instrumentals and sopranos. If one is putting out a Doris Day Songbook for singers like me, then one should put them in the keys that Doris recorded them in.

The Voice and Songs of DORIS DAY are timeless.

How can anyone not love these songs and hear Doris singing them. From `Its magic`, `I`ll Never Stop Loving You`,
`Que Sera, Sera`, `Sentimental Journey` and of course the classic `Secret Love`- to say nothing of `Fools Rush In` and `If I Give My Heart To You` and of course that lovely sweet song by her son Terry `Happy Endings`.
Doris is still alive of course and her Fans around the world rejoice in that. God Bless Her.

Love the Second Time Around

I stumbled on this this author by accident. The Doctor's Secret Bride - the first story in this series, was free. After reading it, I wanted more and that's what I was given. This story flows wonderfully. I will say that I yelled at one time to have sex already (but I've done before....lol.) I called Jack a jack$$ way before the author got around to it. The love scenes were not too hot, they were just right. I liked that the kids were always incorporated in the story. Even though they were progressing, they were in unchartered water, yet they knew that someone was there for them, especially that strange aunt that they'd never met. What happened in the office was perfect. Bryce finally realized what he had to do to be happy. The cemetery scene - priceless. He was able to say good bye in his own way and I could see him crying, but finally being at peace with moving on. I almost pasted this book up because of all the spoiler's that a previous reviewer had given. I'm sorry that he or she was not happy with the book and gave a lot of it away, but it is fiction after all. If he or she wanted a different ending, may he or she should catch a reality show or something. Looking forward to Book Three.

I Loved this book, I read the first one and told my friends about how good it was. I have been stocking Ms.Ross web site waiting for the next book lol. I had just finished reading a book and was looking for another to read and guess what popped up The Mogul's Reluctant Bride....lol I was running around in a circle like a happy puppy and trust me I was not disappointed the book was well written and I loved Kaya and Bryce together and I hated when the book ended...now I have to wait until September what will I do. 5 stars hands down.*****

I read the first book in the series, The Doctor's Secret Bride and was hooked on this author. I couldn't wait for book two and it was well worth the wait. I read the Mogul's Reluctant Bride in one afternoon.

Twenty-three year old Kaya suddenly finds herself the legal guardian of three children following the death of the sister she never met but she's determined to take her responsibility seriously. Bryce Fountaine is a sexy billionaire who still wrestles with demons from his past but there's no way he's going to let Kaya take his three precious God-children out of Granite falls. What ensues is a compelling tale of family, sacrifice and of course red, hot passion between Bryce and Kaya. The characters are well drawn, down to each of the three children, and the plot deals realistically with loss and the impact it has on children.

I love that this author takes her time to build the story, build the suspense before the two main characters jump into bed. It's quite refreshing in the romance genre. There's a scene in this book that's a great set-up for book three in the series. I can't wait to find out why Massimo jetted out of Bryce's office at the mere mention of getting a wife.

Great Read

An excellent fantasy novel. Written in a simple engaging style rich in gritty details, and light on flowery obsequious fluff. Failing to stop casting your inflammatory spell on your hand after it's lost protective warding is bad. We saw the characters in their day to day lives and studying magic, but didn't belabor the thread count of tapestries. The system of magic, though not delved into in depth was presented approachably. A eldritch language guided by force of will and innate prowess.The characters were stereotypical but still interesting and entertaining in how they overcame their troubles. I thought about giving it a 4 just because it couldn't think of a crowning moment, but I can't deny being held rapt by the story through its entirety. Give it read, and in a couple pages hopefully you'll be hooked as I was.

The illustrations are colorful but busy, and are dominated by unhappy and furious facial expressions. A lesson for all ages

When things don't go right
And you just want to scream
And to yell and to fight

This little book teaches
It's really okay
To temper your temper
And just walk away

Ideal for young children
Who're now starting school
To show them that tantrums
Are truly un-cool

The fifth book in the series has the universal theme of anger, and some simple ways you can deal with that tight feeling in your gut before the situation gets out of hand. As usual, the catchy illustrations and simple language make the subject matter easy for young children to identify with, but this time, we can all learn something from Howard.

The world would be better
If feuding leaders
Would put down their weapons
And be "Howard" readers

As the school year progresses and new friendships are formed between students something else starts to form....conflicts. And they don't always end nicely. Anger can really mess the whole thing up. So as an elementary school counselor this is the time of year I start teaching A LOT of lessons on how to deal with your anger without hurting other kids. Howard B Wigglebottom Learns It's OK to Back Away is new to my shelf and fits in beautifully with my lessons on learning to get calm and walk away from situations. It's also a good way to demonstrate self-talk. Howard uses the phrase, "Stop, it's OK to back away." Really like that....calming statements work wonders!

Learning to manage anger at a young age

"It's OK to Back Away" is another little gem in the Howard B. Wigglebottom series to help young children navigate through the formative age experienced by 4 to 8 year olds, and gives kids practical ways to manage the anger they feel when they aren't getting their way. Young children can often have a self-centered nature, especially if they are the center of a family's attention. Conversely, they can feel they need certain attention if they are not getting enough and act out because of it. In this book, Howard the rabbit's young friend Ali (the alligator) shows Howard how to defuse his own anger, and gently lets him know he isn't a loser if he doesn't always get what he wants when he wants it. The lessons in this book can be a good reminder for adults as well in a stressful world. As always, the illustrations are rich and captivating, and almost always contain more funny little nuances noticed when reading the book a second and third time, which children will want to do.

Probably the Best Little Book on Psychology There is

I was assigned this book for a graduate class on the history of psychology I took a few years ago at the University of Southern California. I've moved on to my next degree in clinical psychology and have read many more lengthy books since then. Whertheimer's book presented itself once again to me when my father recently asked if I could recommend one book to define what psychology is all about.
The discipline of psychology receives many false reprehensive parading from the outlook of pop-culture, which have misled the lay person. Despite differing views, the history of any subject provides a solid, undisputable source to comprehend it. That is why among all the other books I've read on psychology this one stands out as being the most definitive. Even among other books concerning the history of psychology, this one summarizes the complex philosophical, theoretical, experimental, political, and biographical constituents of the enterprise so concisely that it can be read in one sitting. You can't ask for a much better little book to accomplish such an overbearing task. For its meager size this book offers immense knowledge.

concise overview, useful

Starts with "Preexperimental Psychology" and runs through Wundt, James, and the 20th century schools of psychology to end with cognitive and humanistic approaches.
I used this book to fill in gaps in my knowledge while studying for a Psychology GRE. I've used it since then to brush up when I teach introductory psychology. It's excellent for these purposes. A concise overview, just what the title advertises.
