Excellent resource to letting go of clutter.

This is also a good Feng Shui. I'm new to this practice and I think this book did a great job with tackling the clutter. I am a paper hoarder, always hanging onto documents and pages I rip from magazines. It piles up quickly. This book really helped me break away from my inner paper hoarding habits. Feng Shui really does work. When you let go of finished projects and clutter, you open yourself up to new, more exciting projects. Very easy to read and understand. And I think it did a tremendous job explaining why people hold onto stuff. It was also sensitively written which i thought was really nice of the author to be empathetic to people who hang onto items.

Feng Shui made easy!

I use it extensively. Has it really changed my life? I don't know. It could be placebo effect. But I think it has helped me be more aware of my surroundings and allowed me to turn my home & work into a sanctuary. It has definitely helped reinforce the positivity into my living & working space. If you are looking for Feng Shui book without wanting to get into complex calculations etc. this book is a must have! I have tried some of the others & none of them break it down so well as this one. As a result of it, I am a convert!

At the same time, many saw it as taking part in an ancient tradition, one that, according to Yale University professor Zareena Grewal, "eschewed the irony and satire that have become the knee-jerk impulse of so many Western artists."

beautiful and timely!

i LOVE this edition! as an american muslim, i see the need for more art that documents the life and times of our faith in this country. the idea that there are muslims who surf, shop in supermarkets, work at school bake sales or are just part of the american landscape is something we are missing in this age of fear and divisiveness. i adore sandow birk's simple, ordinary illustrations. i feel lucky to have stumbled upon this work - based on an NPR interview - and have given copies to my brother, my parents and my kids.

A Must Read Book

This book presents in simple language and in practical way, how Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Astronomy, Astrology, Ayurveda, Psychology, Yoga & Spirituality are placed holistically, in connected way in physical & spiritual structure of both, Man & the Universe.

The real beauty of book lies in conveying seemingly most difficult ideas in a very simple and yet profoundly effective language. I have never read about the phenomenon of Death explained so simply yet profoundly in a single page. Analogy drawn between material and psychological phenomena has blown my scientific mind!

Chapter on Practical Work provides one the material enough to work upon oneself for life time. If you are a modern time seeker, who need explanation of GOD or spiritual evolution in scientific language then this book is an answer.

The Article on `Higher methods of learning' in the book presents the required direction as to how to proceed, if one intend, in unknown spheres of science, arts, spirituality, or any other area of pursuit.

I enjoyed it very much

I had the chance to read book finally; I enjoyed it very much. Honest opinion, it was very well put together/written. The content was marvelous and brought light to previously misunderstood concepts of the Fourth Way material. I also appreciate very much that it was from a Eastern perspective and explained very well how it is connected to various concepts of Yoga for the mind and spirit.

Highly recommended; it will aid in the understanding of the works of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky.

A strange attempt to squeeze Mister Gurdjeff's teachings and Hinduism together. Ultimately a failure

I think Mister Vaishnav has gone way off the track trying to collate Mister Gurdjeff's Teachings with the concepts of Hindu philosophy – although Mister Gurdjeff seems to borrow the great deal from the Samkhya, the oldest Indian philosophy, these diagrams just don't make it for me. I would rather do the work than be a baby bird eating half pre-digested food. For that reason I cannot recommend this book.

Have an uplifting life

Oprah's Handbook for your Best today and tomorrow is better than expected. There are a few words from Oprah, 'What I know for sure" and interviews with such people as Ellen DeGeneres, Tina Fey, Michelle Obama. Most of it is done by 93 contributors, completing 106 pieces. There are many pictures, almost making this a coffee table book, but as you read it, it becomes so much more. There is good advice here on dieting, dating, marriage and life experiences in general.

Examples of the content are.....a comparison of diet plans, including low carb, low fat, Mediterranean, zone, ornish and exercise. There is an article on what happens when the appreciative glances you used to get when you walk down the street stop, a chart with experts favorite health sites, the male brain and best of all a short article on the secret of long lasting marriages. Included is the first time Dylan Klebold's mother has written of her son who participated in the Columbine School massacre.

This is indeed a book that says so much and covers a lot of life, its problems and joys. It would make a great gift for those starting out in life as well as those of us already there.

Excellent overview of a slightly obscure subject

This is a fantastic and comprehensive overview of the systematic minerology of uranium and thorium minerals, including an overview of all the major ore deposits around the world. It is splendidly illustrated with pictures of almost every described species, and crystal structures where available.
Certainly a welcome addition to the limited library of books on radioactive minerals, admittedly a bit of an esoteric interest.

A bit hit or miss, but there are some gems

After the superb Volume 10 of the regular Monster Musume, Volume 3 of I Heart Monster Girls is a bit of a letdown. It's not terrible but it does suffer from a hit or miss quality. Some of the features have less than great art or stories. However, there were enough good highlights to earn the book a four star rating. My own favorite story was "Four of Them!" featuring a return appearance by the multi-tailed shapeshifter Ils. She proves to be her usual overenthusiastic self, trying to protect the shrine. Another funny tale is "Monster Girls Cosplay" with Kimihito's ladies and the MON Squad dressing up and there is a cute little in joke at Manoko's expense. Finally, "Lilith and Draco's Penalty Hell" has those two mischief makers being sent to Polt for some disciplinary exercise and their attempting to get out of it. Like I said, it's not the best volume of this series, but there are enough gems to make it worthwhile for Monster Musume fans.

Craig Russell grew up on what may be the flattest half—section of land on the planet, six miles north of Carman, Manitoba. He now is now a lawyer and lives in Brandon.

Amazing teen (and adult) read!

What a great read! I use this book as a Literature Circle choice in my high school English classroom. I have had many positive comments from all the students who have read it. Comments such as, "the characters are so realistic", "it is different from the books I usually read, and I loved it" and "I got into it right away". Personally, I liked it because it was a high quality story with rich language and very unlike the typical post-apocolyptic, vampire/werewolf stories that dominant the market today. I also had the pleasure of hosting the author, Craig Russell, in my Grade 12 English class. He connected readily and easily with the students and kept them completely captivated the entire hour, not an easy job! It is so nice to be able to offer high quality, Canadian literature to my students. I recommend this book to teens and adults alike!

BLACK BOTTLE MAN is a nice blend of horror

BLACK BOTTLE MAN is a nice blend of horror, history, folklore and characterization. The premise is that the protagonist is cursed to move on from any place he rests his head every twelve days. He lives in this fashion from his early teens until he's an old, old man. His journey takes us across the US but, more particularly, across time from the Dust Bowl to a modern school shooting. As with the best horror stories, this is a book that's about one thing but REALLY about another. It's about a deal with the devil and the price paid for that, but it's REALLY about impersonal forces that force you from your home, divide you from community, and strain your family.

It's not a perfect book--I thought the ending was a little rushed, and I wanted to know more backstory about the character of Claire--but it's different, it's consistent, and the research shows through without weighing down the narrative. It's flaws are small compared to its strengths and mostly consist of leaving me wanting more information and development.

Huck Finn meets Something Wicked This Way Comes

When I first read Black Bottle Man, I thought of those Mark Twain and Ray Bradbury stories -- two of my favourites. The resemblance wasn't, however, superficial. I have now read the story several times, delighting in newly realised connections and depths.

In a time when every second book on the shelf is the start of another trilogy, when paperback binding plays the role of a burlesque girdle, when so many writers write so many words and so few of them tell, it's almost astonishing to find a real story. A story with a beginning, middle, and end. A story with characters that stand up on the page and speak to you. A story that will call you back again and again. Black Bottle Man is such a story. Craig Russell is such a storyteller.
