Not what I had in mind...

I purchased this book in the hopes it would provide me with some much needed advice on discipline for my 2 yr old son. While the book is well written, I found it really geared toward teachers. A lot of the advice was about how to teach children to interact in the classroom setting, and how to handle disciplinary issues for older children. In my opinion, it wasn't geared toward young toddlers at all, and didn't offer much of any advice on how to difuse situations or any disciplinary tactics whatsoever.

A MUST FOR ANYONE WHO WORKS WITH OR HAS CHILDREN!`

Becky Bailey has written possibly one of the best books on guidance ever. She describes the importance of using appropriate, positive techniques when guiding children as opposed to punitive, negative techniques many of us were raised with. This book is easy to read and truly down to earth--no tricky terms or language. She discusses how important it is for children to be given the opportunity and the right to feel, to be validated for how they feel, to feel absolutely safe within their environment along with so many other key components to providing a trusting, nurturing environment for kids. I agree strongly with Bev Bos' comment on the back of the book, "It also needs to be a part of required material sent home from the hospital with every new parent! Becky writes straight from the heart!" Becoming The Parent You Want To Be by L. Davis and J. Keyser is another book that is so compatible with this one. Get them both, learn how to nurture children through their developmental process AND CELEBRATE TOGETHER!!

Khasnabish writes for the communications engineer needing or wanting to learn about the increasingly popular VoIP. He explains in detail the differences between this and the traditional circuit switched approach of Public Switched Telephone Networks.

We see a substantial contrast between the monolithically designed PSTN and the common choice of an open architecture for various VoIP implementations.

Measuring the quality of a VoIP channel is also covered. Methods like buffering can be used to (partially) compensate for delay jitter. Unlike standard email or web usage of the Internet, the real time requirements of a voice interaction leads to significantly more complicated methods that sit atop TCP/IP. The book does not appear to mention IPv6. That has an explicit Quality of Service, to address such real time issues. Granted, v6 is still not heavily deployed. But it may simplify VoIP.

Fantastically realistically beautiful

I have a passion for applique, especially realistic flowers, plants, birds, animals....nature in general. This is a book that I immediately used for a wall hanging which while not yet complete promises to be a truly gorgeous piece of art. The directions and patterns are clear and I have had no problem in creating beautiful flowers from this book. It gets a prime place on my bookshelf!

What a beautiful, well written book. I have been quilting for years yet I learned several new techniques. The flowers are so realistic you would think you could pick them. Instructions are made simple enough for someone who is beginning to learn appliqu�, yet there is an abundance of techniques to keep the experienced quilter engaged. Well done!

This book helped me to change my life.

I was stuck in a rut. I had been living like there was no tomorrow until I was 27, which is the year that everything came home to roost and I started to long for something more than what I had. I had no idea how to live differently. In fact, when I met people who had careers and relationships and homes I sort of despised them because I imagined they had been lucky, or that they had been handed an easy life somehow. I had these big dreams when I was a kid, and then I had some bad things happen to me and I gave up.

I don't remember how I found this book. It might have been in a used bookstore. But I am so glad I did. I took it to heart even though I tend not to believe in anything "frou frou". I did the exercises and started to visualize the future I wanted. Then an amazing thing happened...I started taking the steps that needed to happen to get the life I envisioned. It wasn't an overnight process, and I had to work hard. Sometimes it was a painful process. But it was real, and lasting. It worked.

Fast forward seven years. I literally have everything I wanted and visualized. I finished my bachelor's degree and completed a master's degree. I am a scientist, as I always dreamed and I love my job. (Seven years ago, I was a receptionist - nothing wrong with that, it's honest work - but it wasn't my dream.) I met my husband soon after I started visualizing and we've now been married for almost six years, with a beautiful four year old. (Seven years ago I'd never had a long term relationship and had a constant broken heart.) I own a house and a new car and I have great credit. I have a good relationship with my parents. I don't touch alcohol or drugs. I am thin and fit and honestly I look better than I have in ten years. I am deeply content and often very happy. I'm grateful for everything, and I try to help others when I can.

Maybe you won't have the results I did, but I bet you will if you put your mind to it. I bet you have goosebumps right now if you want something more for yourself! You deserve it. Go for it. I'm cheering you on!

This book is small but very rich in it's content, not a single page of filler. This is the only book on The law of attraction you will ever need. It's very detailed and contains many easy to use meditations and exercises to help you attain your goals. It tells you about treasure maps and vision boards. It's a book for everyone from beginners to people more deep into their journey. It also tells you how and why creative visualization works in a way you will actually understand. As I read through the new version just received I had a lot OH Yeah I read that before. Books are great but you need to follow through with the exercises and apply them on a daily basis. This book is hard to believe, but 100% true. My dad lived in W. Frankfort, in Franklin County. Franklin County was next door to Williamson Cty, IL.
My dad cherished this book as he never thought that someone would write about all that is addressed in this book. Everyone knew about it.
It spoke of one of my relatives that lived and was attacked for what he knew. This Rotramel family member was going to find out who was beating people up and killing people so he went out and measured the horse stride of all the horses from the crime site. Then he figured out who did it. He was almost killed for this.

My dad remembered the KKK marching through town. Everyone, white, black, it did not matter. They were scared.

This book should be on a best seller list.
